Azure Data Engineer

About the Role We are looking for an Azure Data Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. This contract role focuses on building scalable data platforms and solving complex data challenges. Key Responsibilities • Design and implement data solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Synapse Analytics, and ADLS Gen2 • Develop ETL processes using Python and T-SQL • Create and maintain data warehouse models using Kimball, Data Vault 2.0, and Dimensional Modeling • Utilize Azure DevOps, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Purview for data governance and management Requirements • 7+ years of IT experience with 3–4+ years in Azure Data Engineering • Expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Synapse Analytics, and ADLS Gen2 • Strong Python and T-SQL skills for ETL and data engineering • Proficient in SQL (Stored Procedures, Functions) • Experience with Data Warehouse Modeling (Kimball, Data Vault 2.0, Dimensional Modeling) • Azure DevOps, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Purview experience
